Detox your garage in January. How do our customers convert garages into useful living space?

Posted by

January is the month of diets, detoxes, new exercise regimes and removing all the clutter from home. Talking to some of our customers and seeing the state of some garages we visit when doing site surveys enthused us to write this article.

The clutter and mess in the garage is not just a trip or fire hazard. By allowing clutter to occupy your garage you deprive yourselves of a living space that can be used for practical things such as home gym, utility room, workshop, playroom or a music rehearsal studio.

Please see four of many January garage detox success stories and the types of garage doors that helped our customers to complete the job.

  1. Carteck insulated side hinged doors for a customer in Telford Shropshire who is converting his garage into a home gym.
  2. Two Secure by design Aluroll insulated roller doors for a customer in Wrexham who has the good intention of de-cluttering. In his garage is an eclectic mix of hang-gliders, commercial kitchen equipment, canoes, tools and garden furniture. Sounds familiar? In the past he had experienced a break in so decided to go for the high security doors version.
  3. Alutech insulated sectional doors, the most insulated and most competitively priced insulated sectional door on the market. A U-Value of 1.0 Wm2K with deep all round rubber seals. Our customer says: “I am broke after Christmas but the bedroom above the garage is freezing and we use the garage as a laundry so I need the cheapest most insulated garage door you sell”.
  4. Fort Smartpass up and over door with a built in Wicket door. Our customer says: “We’ll never put a car in the garage. The wife needs to get to the freezer nice and easy, and I can come home from work through the garage in muddy boots so the wicket door will be ideal”.
