Before you go ahead and spend your hard-earned cash on new garage doors, you’ll want to be sure you’re getting the perfect versions for your home or business premises. After all, there are lots of different products to choose from, and as long as you know where to look, you should succeed in getting doors that tick each and every one of your boxes.
Here at Arridge Garage Doors we’ve got it all and by perusing our website, you should be able to find exactly what you need quickly and easily.
Up and over
You might be keen to invest in up and over doors. For example, we sell canopy mechanisms that operate in vertical tracks held in side frames. Usually cable operated, they form a canopy of around a third of the door’s height.
These products are the least expensive and they are also easy to fit, so, if you’re looking for something simple and you’re on a budget, they could be perfect. However, the doors are not ideal for automation.
Another option worth considering are up and over doors that operate on a retractable mechanism. These are guided by horizontal tracks located inside the garage and they retract completely when fully opened. They are also straightforward to fit and they can easily be automated.
Meanwhile, you can take your pick between timber, fibreglass and steel up and over garage doors.
Sectional doors
You might also be interested in our sectional garage doors. These also come in steel, timber or fibreglass and they are designed to maximise drive through width as they are fitted on the rear surface of the garage opening. Also, the doors open vertically, so you can park right in front of your garage and still access it.
Another benefit associated with the products is the excellent level of security they offer and thanks to their neat rubber seals, they are effective at preventing drafts. Furthermore, they’re perfect for automation.
Roller doors
Of course, there is the option of roller doors to bear in mind too. You can choose between insulated electric versions or non-insulated manual or electric doors. All rollers are fitted on the rear face of the garage opening, optimising width. It’s worth noting that there are certain headroom clearances required on the inside of the garage between the face of the lintel and the ceiling.
Roller doors are effective from a security point of view because they are fitted behind the brickwork and they feature dual locking bars or ‘autolocks’ if they are electric.
Side hinged products
Last but by no means least, there are also side hinged doors to consider. They are all pre-fitted to factory made steel frames so they are ready for direct installation onto brickwork. You can take your pick from steel, timber or fibreglass versions.
