Andy is Trading Standards Approved and they have a scheme called “Buy with Confidence” which customers can complete feedback forms to give direct feedback (constructive or complimentary) on the service that he has provided. He strives for excellence and endeavours to meet the customers’ needs.

Personal Details

Andy is married to Brooksy, has 2 grown up children and 1 grandson with another on the way. “It’s so much easier being a granddad!” They also have 2 rescue dogs, Marley, an eight year old Doberman and Millie, a seven year old Weimaraner; both dogs have their own special quirky ways. (Loopy and lovable). They have had both dogs for about 6 years now.

Andy left school with an O’ level in Woodwork and other qualifications not really worth mentioning! He went on to do cabinet making and continues to enjoy this to this day. He even built his own boat many years ago and enjoyed taking it out sea fishing etc. He had it for some years before selling it on to another enthusiastic fisherman who, on his first trip out and leaving the marina, clipped the sea wall and sank within minutes!! (He did survive, the boat didn’t).

Andy qualified as an Electrician in 1986 and worked for some time fitting Burglar Alarms and Fire Alarms.

He once fitted a Burglar Alarm for Earl Spencer (Lady Diana’s father) and Barbara Woodhouse (The dog trainer). This was the one and only time he has ever been bitten by a customer’s dog!

Andy worked for one local garage door company for 3 years and after managing this company he decided to bite the bullet and set up his own business in April 1996. He hasn’t looked back since.

Since working for himself, Andy has fitted garage doors for Margaret Thatcher, Ian Wright and also the Mars Confectionary Chief Executive Mark Horgan.
 

Interests: Andy holds an offshore Navigation Licence for sailing although seldom gets the chance to go out these days.

In his youth he dreamed of being a motorcycle mechanic and has always tinkered with motorcycles and loves to ride. He has a boy’s holiday each year where a group all go abroad on their bikes to take to the roads and enjoy the ride. He is also an advanced rider and enjoys instructing new riders.

Andy enjoys scuba diving and photography and both these hobbies take him travelling the world in pursuit of new horizons. He has dived in open water with all sharks apart from one (The Great White). He hopes he will fulfil this wish in December 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Andy is a complete film freak and loves all films, especially what some would call “the most cheesy chick flick.” He just enjoys that escapism. He loves to laugh and have a joke with people. He’s the kind of person that gets up to dance and then will never sit down; He loves to dance like no-one’s watching!

Andy enjoys his job and it gives him a great deal of satisfaction seeing the end result, He is often taking before and after photos as these can be quite dramatic.
