Married to Karen and has 3 sons.
Having worked for several garage door companies in the early years he decided to go it alone in 1995 having seen the industry from many different angles.
His interests are his beloved Bolton Wanderers of which he has followed all his life (arm chair support and the odd match now and then – like most Bolton fans!!) Darren likes F1 and the roar of V10`s and the thrill of speed (you should see his van!!). He likes driving but – never above the speed limit of course. He also likes dining out with his family and having the odd beer or two! He bought a mountain bike in summer 2010 but now must read the instructions on how to use it although he claims cycling was his passion when he was a youngster (good memory!!).
Darren Left school in 1982 with 6 GCSE`s in English, Maths, Geography, Woodwork, Metalwork and Technical Drawing. He has 5 Swimming Certificates – very useful for “wet” garages! One Certificate is for a One Mile swim – he assures he did not cheat more than twice.
He has Bronze, Silver and Gold honours in personal survival (so you are on your own if you are near him in water and you’re in trouble). He went from school to Bolton Council to work as an Apprentice Joiner and finished his Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery with City and Guilds Qualifications. Upon completion of his Apprenticeship he went working on building sites to gain more experience of the building industry.
He then stumbled (must have been the “odd beer or two”) into the garage door and automation industry and took to it like a duck to water.
Distance prepared to travel: Basically he will travel anywhere as long as a contribution towards fuel his is met – as said above he loves driving.
1. Many thanks for the garage door, fitted yesterday and the quality is first class. Also the fitter (Darren) was extremely polite and also did a first class installation. Mark Osbourne - Malmesbury
2.Hi Mark, garage door looks really nice , many thanks to Darren who worked late to finish it, really appreciate it. Regards Gay Beattie
3.Just a quick e-mail to say that the install went well. Darren did an excellent job – including a neat bit of “problem solving” when we realised that the recently installed garage loft ladder wasn’t going to be functional due to the rear brace of the door frame being in the way. - Enzo Torricelli
