Up and over metal garage doors are manufactured from galvanized and powder coated steel. The powder coating process involves spraying the doors with fine powder which adheres to the door. This is then baked on at a high temperature in a kiln to melt the paint powder onto the door, giving it a durable satin paint finish. Plastisol coated and foil laminated metal garage doors are also available.
Aluminium garage doors were made in the seventies, but steel is now the preferred metal of choice by all the leading up and over door manufacturers. High quality counterbalance gear and locking mechanism make them light and easy to open/close, reliable in use and secure.

The Hormann and the Garador steel ranges of up & over and sectional garage doors are two of our most popular metal garage door product ranges. They both use high quality German rolled steel, a neat and strong secret welding technique which makes the door rivet-free and a carefully engineered and robust counterbalance mechanism and locking. Despite the high quality these premium doors are reasonably priced and offer good value.
Our budget range of metal garage doors is popular with contractors, landlords and homeowners who need the garage door to be cheap in price, but of a very serviceable quality.
In order to achieve a timber/wood look at low cost, over the last few years the leading manufacturers have successfully developed metal up and over garage doors made from foil covered steel at low prices. The foil is the same colour and grain design as used on wood grain UPVC windows, so you can match your doors to your UPVC windows at affordable prices.
