Cedar Door Bakewell Traditional Boarded garage door.

 
The timeless, simple, classy design of the Cedar Door Bakewell timber up & over garage door is by far the most popular design in this range.
Made from V jointed tongue & groove vertical cedar planking set within a solid cedar boundary frame, this door is made-to-measure to the size you require.
  • On request, the planks can be fitted on top of the boundary frame.
  • Matching cedar hardwood or softwood fixing frames available.
  • Can come with canopy or retractable lifting gear.
  • On request, if doors to be made electric, no handle hole will be drilled or handle fitted.
  • Doors up to 8’ wide can be supplied on canopy lifting gear on certain styles, on request.
  • Manufactured in quality Western Red Cedar boards, which are glue bonded into a solid cedar frame.
  • All joints are morticed and tenoned, glued and wedged.
  • Comes complete with sturdy and safe multi-spring counterbalance mechanism.
  • Taller sizes available, up to 10' high, at extra cost. Please contact us for details.
  • Dip-coated in Light Oak basecoat, as standard. Top coating immediately after installation recommended by Manufacturer.
  • Available fully finished in a choice of 8 standard colours, at extra cost.

Please read our size advice before ordering your made to measure Cedar Door Bakewell Traditional Boarded garage door.

All Cedar Door garage doors are made to measure.

They are installed onto the brickwork opening via a timber goalpost frame, steel fixing frames are not available.
The frame can be installed between the brick pillars and under the lintel or on the back of the brickwork aperture.
  • 70mm x 70mm timber goalpost frames are generally used for between brick fit.
  • 90mm x 70mm timber goalpost frames fitted flat onto the back of the opening are generally used for back of brickwork fit.
The ordering size of the door is the exact internal frame size:
  • WIDTH - timber upright to timber upright
  • HEIGHT -  finished floor to timber crossbar

This video is showing an automated retractable steel up-and-over door from Hörmann/Garador, which is guided on internal tracks to ensure smooth, precise travel every time, whether manual or automatic operation is chosen. Please note that Cedardoor cedar wood panels are mounted on the same high quality retractable gear.

Warranty and Liability on cedar up and over garage doors.

Cedar doors and gear are guaranteed for a period of:

a) 2 years for unfinished doors and
b) 4 years for factory fully finished doors.
This guarantee does not cover any damage or defects arising through incorrect storage, handling or installation;
This guarantee also excludes normal wear and tear items ie: cones, cables, rollers, lock cylinders or springs.

Manufacturer’s recommendations.

Cedar Door recommends that the door is top coated immediately after installation to the external and internal surfaces with a quality top coat system to the stain manufacturers instructions.

Cedar Door accepts no liability for:

a) the natural variations in colour
b) warping, splitting, swelling or shrinkage due to ordinary natural processes of ageing,
c) fading or the effects of weather or climate,
d) shrinkage, warping or swelling which could have been prevented by carrying out finishing and maintenance recommended by the company.

Estimated lead time on Cedar Timber up and over garage doors
4-8 weeks delivery on all Cedar up and over doors. This lead time varies throughout the year. The quieter months of Jan-Feb it tends to be approx. 4 weeks. The summer months, autumn and leading upto Christmas it can stretch to approx. 8 weeks.

At the point of delivery an able-bodied male must be present to assist the driver in offloading the door.
Every effort is made to deliver goods by the estimated delivery dates given. Due to constantly changing stock levels at the manufacturers, production processes and delivery logistics any delivery or installation dates given are approximate only and the Company accepts no liability for any such delay. We endeavor to deliver all our garage doors and products as fast and efficiently as possible. Most of our doors are not off the shelf. They are made to order.
