Early days
Garadors origins date back to 1948, when it was set up as part of the defence company Westland’s. The aim was to diversify the company’s operations away from military products and the result was the creation of Garador, which made garage doors under a license from Canada. Throughout the 1950s, they were the only manufacturer of up and over doors in the UK. In 1958, their factory was constructed in Yeovil, Somerset and the first Garador branded garage door was manufactured in the new factory that same year.
